Buffalo Castle

Progenitor of all gamebooks, Buffalo Castle was designed for those who couldn't find a gamemaster to play with. One player, Dennis Hall of Alaska, is cited by name in the introduction. Flying Buffalo quickly realized they were on to something: Ken St. Andre called it "a breakthrough in fantasy games"1 in the first of many solitaire dungeons that were to follow.

Only 1st level fighters are permitted, and the dungeon contains the anachronisms that characterize T&T style. The keys are numbered according to the page they are on: in the first edition they run from 2A to 28F. In the second edition they run from 1A to 13K.
